Even if an extremely high level of acid content does lightly etch a coating, it can be compounded out of that coating, still leaving your paint in its’ original condition. In order to coat your vehicle, it has to be in its’ best condition, or an agreed upon quality level of paint correction.
You will always still have to decontaminate your vehicle and remove tar. But this visit will be significantly less than a revival exterior detail every year. Although the water beading and sheeting on ceramic coatings is far better than normal sealants, you should know paint coatings aren’t forcefields. You will still have to use soap or an optimum no rinse solution to properly clean your vehicle. Your vehicle’s paint will also feel harder as a result. New car protection usually takes 2 days. Coating with paint correction usually takes 2-5 days. All coatings are IR cured but Opticoat Pro and Pro Plus do not require so.

Great entry level coating that’s based on the original Uk which was one of the best, if not the best consumer grade ceramics that was widely well-reviewed. Now with a third iteration; it provides more salt resistance along with high temperature protection as well. Rated at 2-3 years with 3 being more likely with yearly maintenance and Reload boosters used afterwards.

DQUARTZ can be used as a standalone coating for automotive paint and will produce the same results when used on metals. Beyond the hardness improvements, it packs strong chemical and environmental resistances, as well as our greatest pride and joy: gloss and self-cleaning.

Opti-Coat Pro is the only coating available that harnesses the strengths of Silicon Carbide (sometimes referred to as ceramic, industrial diamonds and carborundum). Unlike SiO2 based coatings the SiC based coating actually bonds to the paint permanently and the SiC is formed as a chemical reaction in that process, not by having Nano particles of the ceramic floating in a resin. SiC is superior to SiO2 coatings chemically and has a melting point of 2,730 °C (4,950 °F; 3,000 K) and is a 9 on the Mohs scale of hardness.
Opti-Coat Pro is unique in many ways because of this fundamental difference in chemistry. Opti-Coat–Pro becomes one with the paint instead of suspending nano particles of a harder substance in a resin. This gives Opti-Coat Pro far superior chemical resistance, as the chemical must break down the SiC, and not break down a resin holding SiO2 nano particles.
OCP is harder than other coatings, but no coating is scratch proof. Opti-Coat Pro will maintain its gloss over time, SiO2 coatings start losing their gloss through oxidation and it continues to drop, requiring the need to add periodically some form of resin to maintain or restore the gloss and protection. This product comes with a 5 year warranty and was the first ceramic in the industry to have a warranty and insurance behind it.
