While washing your vehicle may seem straight forward, if not done properly scratched and other damage can occur. Here are some quick tips to properly keep your ride clean

  • Use a touchless car wash as long as you can
  • Use a microfibre wash mit when it gets too dirty for touchless
  • Using Optimum No Rinse is the ideal cleaning agent. However if you need to use soap, spray on vehicle if possible and sponge first, before coming in contact with the paint
  • If you are at a wand wash, do a pre-soak or initial rinse off first
  • Do not apply too much pressure. All u need is a soft touch and if you bend down in a different, more patient way you can clean the paint without leaning into it.
  • Do not use car wash brushes
  • Do not wash in sunlight. If you have to make it fast and make sure soap is not sitting long in sunlight. Drying has to also be quick as not to create water spots.
  • Large microfibre drying towel (more thread count, the better) or waffle weave microfibre towel to dry.
  • ALWAYS look for debris or sediment caught in your chamois. While wiping past door panels its easy to catch debris and wipe it across the vehicle. Seal your car wash kit in a bag and keep in your trunk.
  • 2 bucket system (one to rinse out sponge)
  • Optimum no rinse solution (no soap needed) or PH balanced car soap concentrate is the best (doesn’t strip wax or leave film)
  • Wash top to bottom, focus on panel by panel
  • Use glass cleaner for bug removal
  • Air compress door jams and separations in body to prevent run off later.
